Congressional Fellowship Deadline Extended
The Women’s Research and Education Institute has extended its deadline to apply for congressional fellowships until June 30. One of seven such grants for women pursuing graduate degrees is reserved each year for a CWA member or dependent by WREI.
Recipients receive a month-long orientation on women and public policy and spend eight months in Washington, D.C. working in the offices of members of Congress or on congressional committee staffs. They are paid a tuition and living stipend for the nine months.
Past CWA recipients have worked in the offices of Reps. Barbara Kennelly, Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky and Corinne Brown, and for Sen. Edward Kennedy’s Labor and Human Resources Committee.
WREI is funded in part by CWA.
Congressional fellows must be currently enrolled in a graduate or professional degree program. Applications are available by calling the CWA Education Department at 202/434-1131.
