CHAOS Takes Hold in Chicago
At Chicago's O'Hare airport, and at 20 more locations worldwide, AFA-CWA members at United, joined by AFA-CWA President Pat Friend, demonstrate what CHAOS means if United Airlines persists in seeking to throw out the flight attendants' pension plan. CHAOS is AFA-CWA's targeted strike and work action strategy; United flight attendants approved the action when the airline acted to unilaterally change their contract and transfer pension obligations to the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp. As a result, some flight attendants may lose as much as half their pensions.
"We want our pensions back and we want this management team out," said Greg Davidowitch, president of AFA-CWA at United.
