CEOs Like Bush Best
If there weren’t already ample reasons to be wary of anti-labor presidential candidate George W. Bush, Fortune magazine offered up another one recently: He’s the overwhelming choice of corporate CEOs.
The magazine surveyed 200 chief executives at Fortune 500 companies by phone in late January. An overwhelming 70 percent of the wealthy execs said they’d vote for Bush. John McCain and Bill Bradley tied with 10 percent of the tally.
What about Al Gore and his pro-labor, working family agenda? A mere 3 percent of CEOs gave Gore the nod.
Sometimes it’s the endorsement a candidate doesn’t get that speaks the loudest.
