Avaya Bargaining Report #10
CWA meetings with representatives of the Company are becoming shorter in duration as we move closer to midnight Saturday, May 23.
The shortness can be attributed to Union proposals being returned from the Company virtually rubber stamped, "Company rejects."
The most current list of rejections of previously Union-submitted proposals center around increase of payments associated with travel, per diem and moving expenses. Also rejected was increased flexibility of Excused Work Days, increase in vacation time, recognition of Martin Luther King Day and recognition of Veterans Day. Union attempts to address the concerns of term employees in the call center environment have fallen on deaf ears as well. The Union is awaiting response on data regarding outsourcing of Denver bargaining unit work to India and Singapore that the Company maintains does not transpire.
This afternoon the CWA bargaining team passed proposals to the Company around Absence as it applies to the call center, Funeral language and improved Safety language.
Props to the Oklahoma City Call Center for their Mobilization activities and support.
In spite of Avaya's calloused attitude toward our members and their families' needs, CWA will continue to bargain to achieve a fair and equitable agreement.
