Attention Bell Atlantic/NYNEX Members:: Last Chance to Request FMLA Review

All CWA represented Bell Atlantic/NYNEX employees who believe they were wrongfully denied FMLA leave from November 14, 1994 through October 1, 1998 or who were not informed about the option of FMLA leave and who wish to take part in the SPECIAL REVIEW PROCESS negotiated by CWA and the Company must fill out the forms and send them to the Company by January 15, 1999. To get forms or find out more about the SPECIAL REVIEW PROCESS, employees should call CWA FMLA Advisors at 1-800-570-4577.

Absences of three or more days and under a doctor’s care may qualify for FMLA. If you have a chronic condition, an absence of less than three days may qualify. Other absences may qualify.

The SPECIAL REVIEW PROCESS provides that if an employee was wrongfully denied FMLA leave or was not offered FMLA leave and was improperly stepped, and/or lost pay, or was discharged due to absence, he or she can get the step(s) removed, have his or her absence record corrected, have lost wages reimbursed, or be reinstated, where applicable.
