AT&T "Legacy T" Bargaining Report #28

As we reviewed the letters the Company proposed to eliminate or change, the most heated discussion took place over the Monitoring language.  As VP Maly and many members of the bargaining team pointed out, it took many years of bargaining to get our Monitoring language into our contract.  Prior to that language being bargained, our members lived in constant fear that their calls were being secretly monitored.  Discipline was constant, and managers looking to wage a campaign against a member could easily continually monitor that person looking for an excuse to fire them.  We will not let that happen again!  The Company wants the ability to secretly monitor a certain number of calls and be able to discipline on both evaluative and process monitoring.

Tomorrow we will continue going through the Company's proposal.
