AT&T "Legacy T" Bargaining Report #18
We bargained on Saturday, March 28, and today, March 30. Sunday the committee spent preparing proposals and responses.
On Saturday, the Union presented proposals on subcontracting, the movement of work across bargaining units, and the Escalation Adjustment (COLA). We also rejected several Company proposals and gave "Tentative Agreements" on several items.
Today, the Company rejected our subcontracting proposal and modified their position on EW Days. The newest attack they launched today was on the JOG process. Under our current letter, you cannot be laid off unless they offer you a job. AT&T wants to change that so that if they can't find you a job within 45 days, they can lay you off. This is a major change. We presented proposals on ATS, a commuter benefit, and ATTOP.
If you think this is hardly any progress, considering we have only five days before expiration, join the club! Your Bargaining Committee is frustrated and furious over the lack of serious bargaining by the Company.
You should all make your feelings about this loud and clear to management in every location.
