AT&T Internet Services Bargaining Report #18

Today the Company and the Union were at the Table in their first formal session since Contract expiration Saturday night.

The Company presented a package proposal, addressing language in Articles 2, 9, 10, 14, and 16 and in a couple of open MOA's.  While the package included improvements to some of the existing contract language, the Company rejected many of the Union’s earlier proposals.

As if that weren’t bad enough, the Company’s package contained their first wage proposal, as well as a retrogressive Customer Assistant Pay Plan (CAPP).  To say your Bargaining Team was insulted is an understatement!  The Company’s disregard for the significant contributions our members make every, single day is abundantly clear!

Four days past contract expiration, the Company is heading in the wrong direction.

As he tore the Company’s proposal to shreds, our Bargaining Chair, Bill Bates, told the Company, in no uncertain terms, that their proposal would “…never be agreed to by this team today, tomorrow or ever."  With that, your Bargaining Team packed up laptops and notes and immediately left the room.

Apparently, the Company thinks you will settle for less than you have today. Please continue to support your Bargaining Committee in what will continue to be very difficult negotiations.   It’s time to turn it up!

Bargaining will reconvene tomorrow.
