After Seven Years, Labor Peace at ABC Affiliate

NABET-CWA members at WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 31 overwhelmingly ratified a contract seven years in the making. The three-year agreement, bringing members substantial wage increases, improved job security and protection of seniority rights at Washington’s Channel 7, was arrived at after 63 joint bargaining sessions, said union Network Coordinator John Krieger. WJLA has announced plans to move from the city to nearby Rosslyn, Va., in late summer or fall. Present for the signing, from left, are union and management negotiators: Local 52031 Pres.
