Academic Scholarship Award Recipient - Local 7500
Below is one of our academic award recipients. It is a great way to present our Union in a positive way. Congratulations to Eric Leebans and his father Scott who is a proud member of CWA Local 7500.

On behalf of CWA Local 7500, President Rozanne DuBois was honored to make a presentation to one of our members. Our Union has long been committed to education through CWA scholarships. The CWA and IBEW bargained this program in 1992 and the scholarships have been awarded every year since then. The awards are based on academic achievement, leadership, and community service.
One of this year’s scholarships was awarded to Eric Leebens, son of CWA Local 7500 member Scott Leebens. Eric achieved all of the scholarship requirements and is very involved in community service projects. The award is a four-year renewable scholarship for $6,500.00 per year. With this scholarship, Eric plans on attending South Dakota State University in Brookings this fall. Eric’s Dad, Scott, is an employee of Avaya and is a career member of CWA. Scott’s supervisor, Steve Mazzuca drove from Omaha to also be present for the award.
