Re: 2008 U.S. Holiday Schedule

Gentlemen:

Each calendar year, the company provides U.S. employees with 10 paid holidays,
except where collective bargaining agreements specify otherwise for represented employees. Generally, three of the 10 holidays are floating, but these may be designated by a local facility or under the terms of a collective bargaining agreement.
In 2008, Alcatel-Lucent will observe the following seven (7) holidays in the U.S.:

 

• New Year's Day - Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008
• Memorial Day - Monday, May 26, 2008
• Independence Day - Friday, July 4, 2008
• Labor Day - Monday, Sept. 1, 2008
• Thanksgiving Day - Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008
• Day after Thanksgiving - Friday, Nov. 28, 2008
• Christmas - Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008

 

Additionally, as a reminder, following are the remaining holidays in 2007:

• Thanksgiving Day - Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007
• Day after Thanksgiving - Friday, Nov. 23, 2007
• Christmas - Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007
