2006 Avaya Bargaining

To: All Local Presidents Representing Members at Avaya

Greetings:

As you know, the contract with Avaya expires May 27th this year.  At the Communications and Technologies Leadership/Bargaining conference in February 2006, Avaya Bargaining Demands were passed unanimously.  Every Local present received a copy of the approved Bargaining Demand list.  In accordance with the motion passed by the Locals present at the Avaya Bargaining Unit meeting, the Bargaining Team is charged with the responsibility of adding, modifying or deleting demands as necessary during Bargaining.

Bargaining with Avaya is scheduled to begin Monday May 1st.  We expect difficult bargaining with Avaya this year due to the anti-union actions they have taken so far.  Your support will be critical to achieving justice for all members at Avaya.  After the start of bargaining, regular updates will be posted on the C&T web site.  In addition, email will be used to notify Locals of mobilization actions necessary to help us achieve our goal of a fair and just contract with Avaya.  In addition, there will be contacts from each District for Avaya mobilization.  The contact names and Locals will be posted in the next few days.

In Unity,

Gerald W. Souder
CWA Representative
