AT&T LEGACY T BARGAINING REPORT #86

The Bargaining Team met with the Company yesterday in a marathon session that lasted until well after midnight. We returned to the table again early this morning.

This proves when we mobilize we win. The Bargaining Team and the Company agreed to pull the Alliance out of the Updated Final offer and gain a common understanding on the funding of the Alliance before the funding expired. Through mutual aims with the Company and committed negotiations we were able to extend the Alliance funding so there would be no interruption to Alliance training going forward. We were pleased with the outcome with these productive results, due to the openness and cooperation from the Company in regard to the Alliance.

Unfortunately, this does not apply to many of the other open issues we have encountered in the rest of our contract negotiations. Until the Company moves on job security, healthcare and benefits, we will not be able to move toward an agreement. Our leadership has requested the Bargaining Team return home until further notice.

As always we stand united in negotiating a fair and just contract for our members.

Please continue to mobilize using political pressure, media, community involvement and any other means that will convince the Company we are Union Strong.

The Bargaining committee wishes you and your families a safe and happy Labor Day Weekend.

In Unity,

Your Bargaining Committee
