AT&T LEGACY T BARGAINING REPORT #15

Today the Bargaining Team met with the Company.

The Company passed a frivolous and insulting proposal on Articles 16, 24, 45 & ATS to increase the road miles from 35 miles to 50 miles. REALLY? With all the significant issues to be resolved in this round of bargaining, the Company is passing language like this?

Even more insulting was their proposal on Article 20, eliminating paid funeral time for close friends, preventing us from honoring and paying respect to those we hold dear.

When questioned their reply was "it’s too difficult to manage a business when people are not at work", then followed up by suggesting we take unpaid or vacation time. So, it’s not really about managing the business, it’s about limiting the people.

The Union rejected these absurd proposals.

Remember, the Company’s net profit in 2017 was $29.3 billion. That equates to $80,273,972 a day, including holidays (that’s like you winning the Powerball every day of the year).

We will continue to work towards a fair and just contract for all.

Your Bargaining Committee
