The full bargaining committee met today. The Union passed proposals on increasing the number of training hours employees receive, since so many of our training hours are now taken up by AT&T required courses that often do nothing to increase our job skills (like safety classes on equipment we never use).

On the eve of opening bargaining, CWA Telecommunications and Technologies Vice President Ralph Maly, his staff, and our elected bargainers held a National conference call with Local officers, stewards, mobilizers, and activists across the country.

Both teams exchanged language on several articles today, but there were no significant new demands.

The company arrived today with a big pile of demands. It turned out they were all basically the same. For Articles 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, and 41 their demand are to eliminate all double time for overtime after 8 hours and all Sunday differentials. In Article 41 the proposed also eliminating shifted tour differential.
