Women's rights are under attack from right-wing politicians in state houses across the country spearheaded by politicians determined to set back hard fought gains earned by working women. In support of women everywhere, the CWA National Women's Committee and the CWA Human Rights Department under the direction of CWA Executive Vice President Annie Hill want to highlight the work of the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW) for years of dedicated, outstanding service to all women.

In a devastating blow to a half-million public workers in New Jersey, including 65,000 CWA members, the state Assembly on Thursday stripped them of their right to collectively bargain health care benefits and voted for steep increases in what workers pay for health care and pensions, while CWA is in contract negotiations with a June 30 expiration.
