Bargaining for Monday, May 22, 2006 opened with Bill Bates passing Union counter to Article 3 – Defined Terms.

On May 19, CWA Local 7777 held a strike vote rally celebrating the 96% strike vote.

Today the Avaya bargaining unit members have voted overwhelmingly by a 96% vote to authorize the CWA Leadership to call a strike against Avaya if a fair contract cannot be reached.

Washington, D.C. - Members of the Communications Workers of America at Avaya voted overwhelmingly to give CWA leaders authorization to call a strike if a fair contract cannot be reached. Members authorized strike action by a 96 percent vote.

We met with the company this morning and received responses to more data requests. The company passed a counter proposal on the Academic Awards and the Sickness Accident Disability Plan which contained only minor changes to their original ones.
