Avaya Bargaining Going Down to the Wire

Negotiations between CWA and Avaya were continuing as the CWA Newsletter was published, with CWA reaffirming its goal of reaching a fair and equitable settlement at the bargaining table but pointing out that the company was not living up to that same commitment.

The Unions met with the company this morning for more discussion. The company passed proposals on the Care Centers, Absence, and other minor issues. The Unions agreed to company proposals on Academic Awards, The Avaya Award, Life Insurance, and the Avaya Savings Plan.

Bargaining on Thursday, May 25, 2006 opened with Bill Bates giving the Company copies of a letter from CWA President Larry Cohen to Verizon asking them to consider OFS in their bid for supplying fiber.
