CWA Awarded OSHA Grant For Airline Ergonomics

A one-year grant from the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration will allow CWA to launch a “train the trainer” program to improve ergonomics for airline industry employees.

Robert Lind, who served two terms as the international secretary-treasurer for the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians, died Sept. 19 after a long illness. He was 75.
Vote Count at Eagle Falls Short

American Eagle agents fell short of winning CWA representation in their first election conducted by the National Mediation Board. Voting for CWA representation were 1,106 agents out of a unit of 2,962 eligible employees. Votes were counted at NMB headquarters Sept. 12, in Washington, D.C.

The American Federation of Musicians has won its campaign to “Support Tejano Advancement in Recording,” signing the five major labels that record Tejano and other forms of Latin music to an industry-wide contract.
