Susan Dulong: Retired Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg annually received $18 million in compensation - yes, that's annually - and he is not alone. Most CEOs take these kinds of salaries/benefits out of their companies. Is it any wonder that there is a recession?

Tom Gaines - What bygone era does Verizon management want? Do we need to go back to the era when workers were beaten by hired thugs if they even tried to unionize? Or maybe when men would stand on the corner and a flatbed would pull up and some dude would ask, "Who wants work today?" How about the days of the sweatshop where child labor was legal and you could be forced to work 16 hours without a break?
