The bargainers met today and exchanged some proposals. The Company passed a response to our request to put into the contract that the company must allow people to see their personnel records within 30 days. They made a small amount of movement on the existing language.

Members of the Communications Workers of America at four AT&T units voted overwhelmingly to authorize CWA leaders to call strikes if fair contracts cannot be reached.

Unlike most workers, flight attendants are excluded from coverage of some important federal laws. Their work environment, the aircraft cabin, is exempt from federal health and safety laws and falls under Federal Aviation Administration jurisdiction.
