The Bargaining Team held discussions among themselves to prepare for proposals and response on several issues, including subcontracting, employment security, and health care.

Our bargaining team met today with the Company in a subcommittee to discuss subcontracting. We had new, specific information about work in the Philippines. We pressed the Company for answers about why work that we have done, and other work that we could be doing, is being sent overseas.

Taking a stand against corporate greed, CWA activists plan to protest Verizon's annual shareholder meeting on May 3. The gathering starts at 10:30 a.m. at the Von Braun Center, an arena located in downtown Huntsville, Ala. Shareholders will be voting on nine proposals, including an AFSCME and CWA General Fund proposition requiring Verizon to publically disclose its federal- and state-level lobbying.
