Wage estimator for the CWA-Envoy Air Tentative Agreement (January 2019).
See below for more information on how to figure out your Years of Service.
Ratification Bonus: paid in the first full pay period 30 days after the date the contract is signed.
Retention Bonus: paid in the first full pay period 18 months after the date the contract is signed.
Wage at Date of Contract Signing:
No one will lose pay. If your pay is already higher than the new scale based on your seniority, you will keep your current wage rate and if you have at least one year of seniority you will receive a lump sum payment if you do not receive the 3% pay increase.
You will receive two raises per year until you reach “top-out pay” after your 14th year: one raise on the anniversary of date the contract was signed (DOS) and another raise on the anniversary of your start date. After your 14th year you will continue to receive a raise on the anniversary of the date the contract was signed, but you will no longer receive a raise on the anniversary of your start date. For details, please consult the full wage table.
During each year of the agreement, if you have at least one year of service and the increase to your wage rate is not at least 3% based on the new wage scale, you will receive the difference in a lump sum payment based on the hours you worked in the previous calendar year. For example, if the tentative agreement is ratified:
- If a worker received only a 2% pay increase as a result of being placed on the new wage scale, they would receive a lump sum payment in the amount of 1% of their previous year’s wages.
- If a worker currently makes more than their rate on the wage scale, they would keep the higher rate and would receive a lump sum payment if they did not receive the 3% pay increase.
You will also receive two bonuses - a ratification bonus and a retention bonus. The ratification bonus will be paid in the first full pay period 30 days after the date the contract is signed. The retention bonus will be paid in the first full pay period 18 months after the date the contract is signed.
How do I know how many years of completed service I have?
If you have not yet worked for the company for 12 months then you do not have 1 year of completed service, and you should choose "Less than 1" to find your wage estimate.
If you have worked for the company for more than 12 months but less than 24 months, then you have 1 year of service and you should choose "1" to find your wage estimate. For example, if you started with the company on June 1, 2017, then you've worked 20 months and you have 1 year of service.
If you've worked for more than 24 months, but less than 36 months, then you have 2 years of service and you should choose "2" to find your wage estimate. For example, if you started with the company on September 15, 2016, then you've worked 28 months as of January 14, 2019, and therefore have 2 years of completed service.
