What’s the Most Stressful Job in America? Ask a CWA Member
CWA members do many of them, from emergency dispatchers and first responders (Number 1) to call center workers and telephone operators (Number 3) to social workers (Number 8) to probation officers (Number 16). The list was compiled for Business Insider using US Bureau of Labor Statistics and O*NET OnLine data.
A Health magazine survey found that nursing home and child care workers, social workers, health care workers and nurses face the highest rates of depression, with jobs that are heavy on stress, unpredictable or long hours, or little control.
Other surveys of the most stressful occupations included newspaper reporter, airline professionals, broadcasters, taxi driver and other jobs done by CWA members.
