Hedge fund Elliott Management and its CEO Paul Singer are pushing AT&T to cut costs, lay off workers, and extract cash for shareholders. This plan puts jobs at risk at WarnerMedia, which owns CNN, HBO, Warner Bros, and other companies.
The Communications Workers of America, which represents 100,000 workers at AT&T and thousands of media professionals, is fighting back to protect good jobs.
