Subject: 2026 CWA Special Convention - Official Call
Dear Colleagues:
I am writing to advise you that the 2026 CWA Special Convention will be held virtually and begin at 1pm EST on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
On June 1, 2026, under the authority granted by the CWA Constitution Article VIII, Section 2 (a), the Executive Board approved the calling of a Special Convention of the Union.
Therefore, Article VIII, Section 3 (b) of the Constitution requires that I issue this call on or before June 21, 2026. This same paragraph requires that the Special Convention shall be held not later than 30 days after the date of this call. This Special Convention shall be held virtually on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 beginning at 1:00pm EST.
Per Article VIII, Section 2(c) of the CWA Constitution, this Special Convention shall be confined the sole matter to be addressed by this special Zoom convention is "Shall the resolution adopted during the 2025 CWA Convention that CWA begin collecting dues on an actual basis rather than an anticipated basis be rescinded and revoked."
The only other Convention Committee Functioning will be the Credentials Committee.
