Why are CWA Members on Strike Against AT&T?

CWA members are on strike against AT&T in nine states across the Southeast. We walked off the job on August 16. We are on strike against AT&T because AT&T is not bargaining in good faith.

Who is on Strike Against AT&T?

AT&T workers on strike include over 17,000 technicians, customer service representatives and others who install, maintain and support AT&T’s residential and business wireline telecommunications network in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

How Long Will the CWA Strike Against AT&T Last?

The strike against AT&T  will last until AT&T begins bargaining in good faith with negotiators who have the authority to make decisions, and who demonstrate a serious intent to reach an agreement, so we can move forward toward a new contract.

What Is the Impact of the Strike Against AT&T?

The trained, experienced CWA members who are on strike do critical work installing, maintaining and supporting AT&T’s residential and business wireline telecommunications network. Customers should be aware that these workers will not be available to respond to service calls during the strike.

Our members want to be on the job, providing the quality service that our customers deserve. We know that customers, businesses, and government agencies are currently facing long wait times for repairs and service. We are concerned because during CWA’s strike against AT&T  we have observed many safety violations and had reports of accidents caused by the undertrained managers and contractors that AT&T is using
