Ohio Governor Ted Strickland applauded CWA and IUE-CWA for providing state-of-the-art high tech and green job training to dislocated workers

CWA Local 9400 will gain new jobs and new members thanks to a broadband grant awarded to a union company in California. Funded by the Obama administration's economic recovery program, the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program supports projects that build out high speed networks.

Busloads of CWA members were on Capitol Hill for CWA's Lobby Day, holding more than 140 meetings with members of Congress and staff on jobs, bargaining rights for public safety officers and high-speed broadband access for all Americans.

Determined to save public broadcasting in New Jersey, CWA Local 1032 members had reason to celebrate, cautiously, this week as the state Legislature put off a decision about privatizing NJN until at least mid-October.
