On this week's episode we acknowledged April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month and we were led in discussion by CWA's Micki Siegal De Hernandez on Worker Memorial Day. We also paid our respects to the late Clara Caldwell and honored her for her contributions to the labor movement. Human Rights committee member Reggie Pierre Louis was spotlighted for his continued activism in District 1. The show wrapped with a conversation surrounding black women in the fight for pay equity and movement building, citing instances from the Atlanta Washerwoman movement in the newly freed south.

The AT&T West contract expired on April 7. The vote results showed over 92 percent in favor of a strike.

On Workers Memorial Day, we remember workers killed on the job in a work-related incident or who died from an occupational illness and renew our commitment to fight for strong safety and health protections.

Workers have been on strike in a fight to compel the newspaper to follow the law, bargain in good faith, and provide health insurance.

In the last month, workers at television station KDVR in Denver, Colo., WLNE television station in Rhode Island, and online music platform DistroKid have joined our union.
