CWA Responds to Intel Cutting 15,000 Jobs
In response to the news that Intel will cut over 15,000 jobs across its workforce, CWA President Claude Cummings Jr. and IUE-CWA President Carl Kennebrew released the following statement:
“Given that Intel has received more federal funding from the CHIPS Act than any semiconductor company in the industry, the last thing the company should be doing is cutting thousands of crucial jobs to please its investors. With demand for skilled workers in the industry only continuing to grow, Intel must work to fulfill the promise of this funding to create good jobs in this critical sector of our economy. A labor peace agreement would be a key component to paving this path by ensuring Intel’s workers have a free and fair process to form a union and to demand to be equal partners in their company’s future success.”
