NOKIA BARGAINING REPORT #7

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

The Company and your Bargaining Team met again today. The Union pointed out that some of the data we received from the Company was inaccurate/incomplete. The Company apparently was unsure of what our request was and will look to provide the additional data. They also responded to several more of the Union’s data requests, one of which is the operational plan is to eliminate the Bargaining Unit by June of 2019. The Company's well thought out plan, which wasn’t in writing, appears to be a rehash of the base depopulation under the Shift Plan Effects Agreement.

Steve Amato did your unit proud today when he hammered the Company on how the core Installers meets the needs of the customers and gives them the service they expect and are paying for versus the difference in service delivered by the contractors. He blasted them for using contractors who treat their employees horribly, likening them to the “Walmart Effect.”

The Union requested clarification on the proposal the Company passed yesterday regarding Post Retirement Healthcare, Dental and Group Life Insurance. As reported yesterday, the Company is willing to extend these benefits through December 2021 provided the Union agrees to eliminate the bargaining unit!

We are continuing to work on cost savings proposals to present next week. Our goal continues to be the achievement of a contract that keeps our bargaining unit intact and continues to provide retirement security for all.

Remember:  Mobilization is critical. Our jobs, livelihood, and bargaining unit are riding on us getting a fair and equitable contract. The contract expiration date is set for June 30^th.
