New Site Explains Health Care Law

A coalition of groups including the American Medical Association (AMA), the Catholic Health Association, the American Cancer Society and the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) have joined together to create a new website that will help Americans better understand the health care reform law that was signed into law by President Obama last year.

Various polls have recently shown that Americans are confused about what the health care law means for them. According the Kaiser Family Foundation polling 40% of people believe that the law created so-called “death panels” to decide who lives and dies and 20% of people believe that the law has been repealed and is no longer in effect.

Healthcareandyou.org provides tailored information based on which state you live in and how old you are. It provides links to programs that you may qualify for as well as information on new health care opportunities you may now have under the law.
