Mobilization Report
1150 continues with their stand up and clicking several times each day including 11:50 AM. Several members and billed 1500 customers flyers outside Yankee Stadium Saturday, and received great feedback from the fans. Local 1150 has membership working in both NJ and NY. The NJ outside technicians have been serious on their promotion of top quality customer service and safety. Management notified the NJ Techs that NJ fell to the worst in the country for getting service installed. Tickets seem to be piling up since the technicians are no longer home garaging. Hopefully all of our Locals in the different states are trying to achieve this great honor.
2252 members passed out 1500 leaflets the Vienna Metro (train) station in DC starting at 5:30 AM, aimed at getting information out to Government employees which make up the majority of the commuters.
4009 Retirees held an informational picket
6377 Continues to handbill customers outside of AT&T retail locations & is putting together a new customer list to send early warning letters to.
6450 daily actions including stand ups & shaking pill bottles & using clappers or clapping. Members wore red Thursday & Black Friday last week. In less than one week they have received over 9200 views on their "you tube" video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWDUJSTWL_o explaining how active CWA members are in their community and the impact AT&T's proposals will have. Every member called Star Myerkord at 214-757-3333 and ask for their ticket to the Shareholders meeting. Members remain informed via e-mail, the website & blogs. Membership participation continues to increase in wearing purple shirts Mondays.
All Locals in D6 have had members requesting to view personnel records.
7250 – Themed Health Care Week in the call centers & focused on Quality/Safety in the Central Offices & Outside Plant. Tuesday found many members in their pajamas on "So sick, I barely made it to work day" without health care benefits. Standing for a fair contract continues hourly.
9415 scheduled a "Takin' it to the streets" info picket Saturday. They continue with daily actions including standing and waiving "Ready to strike signs". Back to Black Monday, tap" Tuesdays, and other coordinated actions with Local 9421 continue.
13550 increased standing and clicking to every 30 minutes. Monday passed out a flyer on "Why we wear red", and Tuesday's flyer focused on quality. Tuesday they also held a practice picket on lunch/break.
Many Locals continue to leaflet outside retailers that sell our products and services like AT&T stores & Authorized Agents, & early warning letters are still being distributed among the largest customers that we service on the job.
Retirees have been activated Nationwide, and are a driving force in many of our external actions. Thank you for your dedication to CWA.
We have added Apple stores to our list of organizing campaign, as AT&T is the exclusive service provider for the Apple iphone. We would like to make sure that workers at Radio Shack, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, AT&T Authorized agents, and now Apple, have the same information on how to form a Union where they work.
If you experience changes in working conditions or any other Unfair Labor Practice, make sure to get specifics to bbates@cwa-union.org. He is working with CWA Legal to keep track of the ULP's committed during bargaining.
Remember to have people sign the e-petition to AT&T by accessing www.standupforworkers.com so we can send a strong message to AT&T that corporate greed is not tolerated in the United States.
For all attending the AT&T Shareholder meeting next week: even though it's on Friday, remember to wear RED!
Quote of the Day: "AT&T has both hands in the cookie jar and they're trying to convince the world they're on a diet." --CWA Local 4321 President Frank Mathews
