CWA Occupational Health and Safety Conference

To: All Local Presidents

Subject: CWA Occupational Safety and Health Conference

The 2007 CWA Occupational Safety and Health Conference will be held March 23-25, 2007, at the Holiday Inn on the Hill in Washington, D.C. immediately before the Union's Legislative Conference, March 25-28, 2007.  This will allow our safety and health, and legislative activists to participate in both conferences.  Such participation will assist activists in broadening our work and linking occupational safety and health and legislative activities.

The Occupational Safety and Health Conference will focus upon issues such as CWA's Stewards Army: the role of occupational safety and health activists, union and labor-management workplace safety and health committees, occupational safety and health education and training, using your OSHA rights, and state initiatives.  Also, during the  Conference, panel sessions and workshops on "Occupational Safety and Health Strategies and Successes," "Electrical Hazards within the Telecommunications Industry," and "Using Workplace Safety and Health within the Collective Bargaining Process to Help Build and Strengthen the Union" will be held.

Please return the completed registration form and fee of $100 by Monday, March 5, 2007, to the attention of David LeGrande, the Union's Safety and Health Director.

Hotel reservations must be made directly with the hotel.  Room rates are $149 plus tax for single or double accommodations.  Hotel reservations must be made by February 22, 2007.

If you have any questions regarding the conference, please contact David, at the above address, E-mail: legrande@cwa-union.org, or via phone: 202-434-1100.

Larry Cohen
President
