Dear Pres. Bahr:

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to CWA for maintaining my job security, good salary and benefits for more than 21 years now. I will retire on Monday, November 30, 1998. I am honored to have been a member of CWA for many years. I know the importance of being union. I appreciate the great early retirement your staff negotiated in bargaining with Pacific Bell in 1995, and renewed in 1998. I will take advantage of this opportunity.

I have informed my union, Local 9505, Arcadia, Calif., Mr. Ed Venegas, President, that I want to give the union a contribution when I retire. Paying union dues does not seem enough.

I am single with no children, and my financial "doctor" said unless I want to,

I will never have to work again. I know I am very fortunate to be in this position. It seems right to give something back. I plan to give at least a $1,000 when I leave.

I would like to close by saying good luck to CWA. I will be union, family and proud of it until I die.
