To:  All Avaya Local Presidents and Members

CWA has been notified that on or about July 20, 2007, Avaya workers will begin receiving a letter asking them to voluntarily update their employee profile.  This is specifically relative to race and is being done so that Avaya can better comply with new EEOC revised categories for recording race.

Avaya, as a U.S. Government supplier, is required to supply annual reports about the racial makeup of their U.S. employee base.

The letter will walk the employees through the necessary steps to change their racial category if they would like.  The letter also provides an email in case an employee has any questions.
