Eduardo Diaz Dies, Headed International Affairs
Eduardo Diaz, CWA’s international affairs director, died of a heart attack July 18 while attending an international conference in Edinburgh, Scotland. He was 41. He was in Edinburgh to make a presentation on organizing high tech workers to Union Network International, the global labor organization which represents some 15 million communications workers.
CWA President Morton Bahr paid tribute to Diaz for his commitment to improving the condition of workers throughout the world, his skill in managing complex international situations, his dedication to CWA, and his great love for family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Rosie Torres, who is a CWA legislative representative, their two-year-old daughter, Victoria, his father, mother and three sisters.
