CWA Defends Health Care Law

Last week the House voted, largely along party lines, to repeal the new health care law. Senate Republicans have pledged to force a similar vote in the Senate, but Majority Leader Harry Reid has said he will not allow a vote on the floor.

In a statement, CWA said that it “strongly believes that the American people deserve a Senate that deliberates, debates and votes in a transparent and accountable manner.”

“Unfortunately, the Senate declined to take action on common sense reforms that would have instituted these changes,” CWA said. “These reforms would have provided the American people with real transparency in the legislative process and would have required senators to take a public stand and fully debate on the floor of the Senate.”
