CA Reporting Requirements

Re: CA Reporting Requirements

I wanted to inform both of you about some tracking processes that are being put in place in the state of California that may come to your attention.  As I am sure you know, California state law obligates employers of non-exempt employees to maintain accurate records of hours worked for each day.  This includes work start times, meal period start times, meal period end times, and work end times.  In a recent audit of our records we determined there was a need to put additional attention to this tracking requirement to ensure compliance.

We expect that this manual tracking process will be eliminated once we move to elink due to the ability for individuals to log their time directly into the elink system.  If your local unions have any questions or concerns on this issue, please have them work with Charlie Tapia of my team.
