AT&T "Legacy T" Bargaining Report #11
The Company continues with its “scorched-earth” policy as they rampage their way through our Contract. They are trying to take back rights and benefits which have taken years to gain, and leave nothing but language that is advantageous to them.
They continued putting the same take-backs as they have been pushing for the last week. Their latest attempted victim was Article 38. As we have done every time AT&T has made these proposals, there was tough questioning and your bargaining team made their opposition crystal clear.
The Union presented a comprehensive proposal for a plan that would require the Company to offer open jobs to workers in other parts of AT&T before they hired off-the-street. This would replace the cumbersome and ineffective Inter-subsidiary Movement plan that AT&T currently uses. The Union has no input or oversight over the current plan. Under our proposal, there are clear guidelines and oversight is required. This new plan would not impact current transfer plans and recall rights that are currently in our agreement.
Remember, the strike votes will be counted from all the Locals next Friday, March 20th. Don't forget to vote. We need to show the Company that every member is as outraged by their proposals as your bargaining team is.
The next bargaining report will be Tuesday, March 17, since Monday will be devoted to subcommittee work.
