Academic Scholarship Award Recipient

Mary Lou Schaffer, President CWA Local 13550, sent in the following: 

Ken Harmon is a member of Local 13550 and a CSSS in the Pittsburgh Customer Care Center. His son Matthew is one of the recipients of the latest Academic Scholarship Awards. In discussions with the Local Officers in Pittsburgh, Matthew demonstrated his understanding of unions and the importance of unions in the workplace. It's really nice to see someone as young as Matthew have an understanding of unions in the workplace.

Matthew was accepted to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. He was interviewed and recommended to the Air Force Academy by Congress. His community service work includes the Civil Air Patrol, specializing in Search and Rescue. The company held a luncheon in his honor and Mary Lou Schaffer, President of Local 13550, presented Matthew with a Certificate of Achievement, acknowledging his award.
