A Fight for Our Future

The stakes couldn't be higher. If Verizon wins the current fight over new contracts, workers lose their future.

After more than a year of negotiations—which began June 22, 2011—45,000 CWA and IBEW members are still working under outdated contracts. A demand for fairness is at the heart of the standoff. Company negotiators want us to accept:

• higher costs for our health benefits,
• capped pensions for current employees and elimination of pensions for new hires,
• lower real wages, and
• an end to job security.

The effect of these givebacks would be a loss of $10,000 a year in compensation per worker.

We want fair compensation and benefits, not givebacks. We must stand together in this fight for our future!
