19th Annual Operators Conference To Be Held on California Coast
Built around a theme of "Operating With Attitude Beyond Y2K," CWA's National Operators Conference will take place Sept. 30 - Oct. 3 in Manhattan Beach, Calif.
Telecommunications operators from throughout the country will gather at the Manhattan Beach Marriott for four days of networking, educational workshops and a variety of union building activities.
This year's conference - the 19th annual - will be hosted by the California, Nevada and Hawaii Operators Network. Workshop topics will include organizing, the Family and Medical Leave Act, violence in the workplace, ergonomics, CWA-COPE and political action programs, diversity and building self-esteem.
The conference registration fee is $100 per participant. Checks should be made payable to CNH Operators Network and mailed to: Jack Metzger, CWA Local 9400, 7844 Rosecrans Ave., Paramount, CA 90723.
Room reservations should be made directly with the Manhattan Beach Marriott. The CWA rate is $92 per night, plus tax. This rate will be good from Sept. 27 through Oct. 3. Reservations can be made by calling the hotel, toll-free, at 877-677-1154. Be sure to identify yourself as a CWA Operators Conference attendee.
