Employer Coverage for 27 Million American will be Cut Under Republican Health Care Repeal

The health care repeal bill currently being considered in the Senate will hit millions of Americans with employer health benefits.

The CBO estimated that 3 million people will lose their employer health coverage because the bill removes penalties on large employers that refuse to offer coverage.

Another 27 million Americans are projected to see new benefit restrictions, either lifetime or annual benefit caps, as a result of the insurance deregulation under this bill. These caps will apply to important services like maternity care, mental health care, hospital care or prescription drugs.

Caps on annual or lifetime benefits undermine financial security for employees with serious conditions. Once a sick patient hits their benefit cap, the insurance company will refuse to pay for additional services and the patient must pay the entire cost to continue treatment.

This bill is currently being considered in the US Senate. Click here or dial 1-855-980-2231 and tell your Senator to oppose the health care repeal bill.
