After being away from the table for almost 8 weeks, the Company finally relented and called us back to the Bargaining table with no hint of the proposals that they were going to present to us. With this cryptic silence surrounding our summons, we were looking for some anticipated movement from the Company.

After meeting with the Company all afternoon we were presented with an illusion of movement by AT&T. Their proposal consisted of date changes, future ticking time bombs in medical, the future of Alliance funding and substandard raises with no retro pay. Their explanations for these no movement proposals were rambling and at times bizarre.

Could they possibly believe that this one meeting would cause us to completely change our stance while not addressing our issues of job security, watermarks, outsourcing to contractors and bringing jobs back into the Legacy T Bargaining Unit?

If they expect us to bargain with ourselves and make concessions while gaining no protections or increases to our job security, wages and healthcare benefits, they are making a huge mistake.

We are preparing counter proposals that will reflect our members' bargaining demands and their best interest and continue on a course for a contract that our members will be proud to ratify - not one that will undermine the core contracts that already exist. We are still committed to achieving a fair and just contract for all of our members.

Please continue to mobilize by using political pressure, media, community involvement and any other means that will convince the company we are Union Strong.

In Solidarity,

Your Bargaining Committee
