AT&T LEGACY T BARGAINING REPORT #71

The Union worked apart from the Company today.

The Team continued to research the Company’s positions regarding DTV. The DTV Premise Technicians have mandatory home garaging with a company vehicle. The Bargaining Team has ascertained that the Premise Technicians in the last 2 years have worked 38,000 hours driving to their first job and then driving home from their last job. The Company does not compensate them for this travel time as they refer to it as de minimus time. This de minimus time equates to a person working 18 years without compensation, which we believe to be an excessive commute; as any rational person would, except the Company.

The Company continues to demonstrate their disinterest in improving the working conditions and compensation for the DTV unit.

We are still infuriated by the Company’s proposal to eliminate the Alliance by 10/1/2019 and not have a replacement for certifications for our Article 43 Network Technician Specialists.

The Company’s proposals regarding watermarks, which are our foundation for job security, is totally inadequate and includes their ability to move Core Technicians during a declared lay-off to the Premise Technician title without any of the benefits that are included in Article 43. This was not included in the Company’s eails to the rank and file. Remember:  the devil is in the details.
