Workers at a San Francisco Bay Area news website have voted to join TNG-CWA, illustrating how The Newspaper Guild is evolving to serve media workers in today's ever-changing industry.
T-Mobile Workers Win Union Voice in Connecticut

T-Mobile USA technicians in Connecticut today voted for representation by the Communications Workers of America-TU. The vote was 8-7 for CWA-TU representation with one challenged ballot of a union supporter who had recently transferred into the unit. The challenge will not affect the outcome. The Connecticut technicians are the first to vote for union representation at T-Mobile USA. T-Mobile operations in Germany, owned by Deutsche Telekom, fully respect workers? right to bargain collectively, but U.S. management historically had undertaken a campaign of delaying tactics and interference to intimidate workers. The Connecticut techs stood strong against these tactics and for a union voice.

CWA's highest honor, the President's Annual Award, was presented this year to District 2-13 and District 3 for their exhaustive efforts over 10 years to organize more than 3,000 passenger service agents at Piedmont Airlines.
Flight Attendants at New United Vote AFA-CWA

In the nation's largest union election in years, Flight Attendants at New United voted this week for representation with the AFA-CWA.
The National Mediation Board election covers nearly 25,000 air safety professionals at the merged airlines, joining 9,000 Continental and Continental Micronesia Flight Attendants formerly represented by the Machinists (IAM), and 16,000 AFA-CWA members from United.

After a decade fighting for a voice on the job, 44,000 TSA screeners at 450 airports have joined the American Federation of Government Employees in what was the largest union election ever for federal workers.
