CWA and the Transport Workers International Union signed an affiliation agreement that means new opportunities in organizing and mobilizing with the combined strength of 850,000 members.

The Transport Workers Union of America and CWA have voted to work together in a new affiliation. The new partnership was unanimously endorsed by the executive boards of both unions.

Embarq/CenturyLink technicians from Winter Park, Fla., won CWA Local 3176 representation, following a Jan. 27 decision by the National Labor Relations Board that their 60-59 election victory should stand.

At last night's CWA national town hall meeting, Anthony Guerrier, a Cablevision worker in Brooklyn working for CWA representation, told the 6,000 CWAers listening that "we're optimistic that by this time tomorrow we'll be able to say that we are proud members of CWA Local 1109."
