Immigration reform advocates aren?t taking an August recess. Across the country, CWA activists and partners are flooding town halls, meeting with their members of Congress and holding rallies to support a comprehensive bill with a path to citizenship for 11 million undocumented immigrations.

For the first time in a decade, the National Labor Relations Board has five Senate-confirmed members. CWA led this fight, and e-mails and phone calls from thousands of activists made all the difference.

With Wednesday's votes by the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions (HELP) Committee approving the nominations of Democrats Nancy Schiffer and Kent Hirozawa, all five nominees to the National Labor Relations Board now proceed to full Senate confirmation. Schiffer and Hirozawa both were approved on a 13-9 vote; all Republicans but one voted against the nominations.
