44 Cingular Network Techs in North Carolina Gain CWA Representation

Forty-four Cingular network technicians in North Carolina gained CWA representation on Aug. 16 after a majority of the workers supported CWA in a card check. Locals 3607 and 3603 assisted the workers in their efforts to get a union like most of their co-workers at the company.

More than 6,000 child care providers in New Jersey signed up for representation by CWA and AFSCME. The workers subsequently gained collective bargaining rights when New Jersey Governor Jon S. Corzine signed an Executive Order on Aug.

9,300 Northwest Airlines flight attendants vote AFA-CWA

More than 9,300 flight attendants at Northwest Airlines voted for AFA-CWA representation in a union representation election July 7. More than 80 percent of eligible flight attendants voted in the election, supporting AFA-CWA by 4,349 votes and 2,668 for PFFA, an independent union.
